Why You Should Get Your Ultrasound Certificate
Ultrasound Certification | Welcome to Ultrasound for Women’s Health Providers, I’m Carolyn Gegor, CNM, MS, FACNM. Today, I want to talk about the importance of excelling in your midwife certification exam.
About the Ultrasound Certification
Administered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), this certification transcends a mere title—it's tangible evidence of your ultrasound proficiency, amplifying your professional standing in sonography and obstetrics.
The Midwife Sonography examination assesses the knowledge, skills and abilities in the areas of the female reproductive system as well as the fetus in the first, second and third trimesters of pregnancy. By earning the Midwife Sonography Certificate, midwives gain a critical edge in promoting public safety in women’s point-of-care ultrasound.
Achieving this certification isn't just a task to complete; it's a strategic move, reinforcing your expertise and significantly enhancing your professional credibility.
Now, let's dive into the Benefits of Ultrasound Certification:
When you achieve ARDMS certification, you:
Represent the highest standard in the field
Communicate a commitment to patient care and safety
Increase your career opportunities
Gain visibility and credibility in the field
Reassure patients and employers that you are committed to excellence in Sonography
In order to earn the Midwife Sonography Certificate, the certified-midwife must pass both required components in the following order:
Part One: Midwife Sonography Computer-based examination
Part Two: Practical examination
